• To promote students to learn science in a creative and fun way

Category: Open to all Pre-University students in Malaysia.

Submission Guidelines/ Eligibility

1. The competition is open to all Pre-U students in Malaysia.
2. Each participant is required to submit TWO (2) memes related to different fields of Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics).
3. The Science Meme Criteria:
   a. Funny, witty, and entertaining captioned images.
   b. Recommended resolution: At least 300 dpi (1200 x 1200 pixels). The images and texts should not be pixelated when attached to the submission template file.
   c. Format: PNG, JPEG/JPG.
   d. Recommended Apps: Meme Generator
4. This is an individual work and must be original.
5. The language used must be in English/Bahasa Malaysia.

7. Attach the memes in the template file provided found at https://bit.ly/38P1ivd and fill in all necessary information required.
8. Submit your file in Microsoft Word to https://forms.gle/XRwbDaMjFeXoJDyeA latest by 14 December 2022.

Judging Criteria

The Science Memes will be evaluated based on:

1. Content (Scientific accuracy, Memes are from different branches of Science, image and text are relatable).
2. Creativeness and originality.
3. Visual clarity and appeal.
4. Scientific terms and language.
5. Overall format.

Assessment Criteria

TWO (2) memes in different fields of Science:
For each meme:

• Content (4 marks)
• Creativeness and Originality (4 marks)
• Visual Clarity and Appeal (3 marks)
• Scientific Terms and Language (2 marks)
• Overall Format (2 marks)

Rules & Regulations

1. Only ONE (1) entry is allowed for each participant.
2. Memes that have been previously published or submitted to other contests will not be considered.
3. The submitted work must not contain any provocative, objectionable, or inappropriate content.
4. The results will be decided by the panel of judges appointed by UTAR. The decision is final, and no correspondence will be entertained.

Timeline

• Registration Deadline: 14 December 2022 (Wednesday)
• Judging duration: 15 – 16 December 2022
• Announcement of results: 18 December 2022 (closing ceremony of e-KLESF 2022)
