Video Competition: Physics and Our World
Students will be required to record themselves conducting one interesting physics demonstration/experiment and to explain the science behind it to empower them to think creatively and critically about scientific problems and experiments.
Objective:
To help student to develop critical thinking and quantitative reasoning skills.
Categories:
- A : 13 – 17 years old (Secondary school) – to submit 2 minutes long video with adult supervision
- B : 18 – 23 years old (Tertiary – Form 6, A-level, matriculation, college and university) – to submit 5 minutes long video, on their own
Rules & Regulations:
1. Participants can start to register/submit the video from 13 September 2021.
2. There are two categories;
- A : 13 – 17 years old (Secondary school) – to submit 2 minutes long video with adult supervision
- B : 18 – 23 years old (Tertiary – Form 6, A-level, matriculation, college and university) – to submit 5 minutes long video, on their own
3. The videos provided must be in landscape orientation, not portrait.
4. The video must be authentic – to contain only original work including any music, sound effects and still photographs, etc.
5. The video has to be fun!
6. Each participation can submit only ONE (1) video.
7. The size of the video must be less than 1.00 GB with the file format of .MP4, .WMV or .AVI.
8. Participants must submit the video by 22 October 2021, 5pm.
Assessment Criteria:
- The information provided (relevance, accuracy)
- The presentation structure (elaboration, organisation)
- Appropriate visual aids used
- Language used (free from grammatical or spelling errors)
Participation: No fees are charged for participation.
