Skills Development and Technology Innovation 2025
ASEAN International Competition

In order to further promote the transformation of competition results and display and exchange, the Technology Innovation Competition is set up in 3 modules, including roadshow defense, exhibition display and project docking.

  • Project Presentation
    1. Roadshow: each team will present the highlights of the project (including PPT, video presentation, prototype, etc.) within 10 minutes;
    2. Q&A: 5 minutes, including questions from the judges and simultaneous interpretation between Chinese and English (if necessary).
    3. Language of the competition: English
    4. Evaluation criteria: project technology foresight and originality, social and industrial value, on-site expression, etc.

Advanced manufacturing

Using new technology, new equipment, new materials, new process, new production organization mode to carry out safe, efficient and clean processing and manufacturing of labor objects, so as to form high-quality and high-performance industrial products needed by the society. Focus on digital twin, micro-nano manufacturing, additive manufacturing, industrial design and industrial robots.

Digital health

Based on digital health, it provides innovative solutions for promoting medical data sharing, deep integration of medical resources and connectivity based on intelligent, personalized and comprehensive services.

Green energy resources

Promoting green and low-carbon economic and social development to help achieve high-quality development, focusing on green industrial transformation and upgrading, carbon neutrality, new energy technologies, and smart grid solutions.

 Artificial intelligence

Using artificial intelligence technology to solve practical problems, promote the innovation and application of artificial intelligence technology, including deep learning, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, artificial intelligence technology generation content and AI creative applications.

Virtual simulation

Focusing on industrial design simulation, engineering scene digitalization, enterprise operation simulation, augmented reality and virtual reality, and meta-verse innovative applications.

Digital agriculture

The modern agriculture focuses on information as an agricultural production factor, using modern information technology to visualize, digitally design and manage the whole process of agricultural objects, environment and whole process. It focuses on precision agricultural technology and equipment, agricultural Internet of Things system, agricultural products processing and logistics, and agricultural product quality and safety traceability system.

Future technology

Including future technology fields not covered in the above track, aiming at the future frontier, revolutionary and disruptive scientific and technological innovation of BRICS countries, refining the characteristics based on interdisciplinary and cross-border knowledge integration, and focusing on the forward-looking thinking and original innovation level of future technologies.

Sky, space and communications technology

Including but not limited to geographic information systems; satellite control/communication technology; unmanned aerial vehicles; (4-5G) wireless communication; quantum communication; wireless technology and Internet of Things, etc.

Government and public management platforms and end-to-end solutions

Including but not limited to national and municipal technology platforms; enterprise technology platforms; international technology platforms; intelligent decision-making systems; digital services and service ecosystems for citizens.

Ability and employee development

Including but not limited to national training programs in artificial intelligence, key technologies, etc.; project leaders/teams/solutions in block-chain, Internet of Things, digital twin, etc.

  • Exhibition Display Information
    1. The entries will participate in the Kuala Lumpur Engineering Science Fair 2025 (KLESF 2025), and each entry will have a booth of 2 meters by 2 meters, where participants will display and introduce their project.
    2. Answer questions from review experts and communicate with exhibitors.
  • Project docking

The participants will engage in face-to-face technical exchanges and project implementation discussions with local enterprises, educational institutions, government agencies, and other industry investors. Experts and scholars from relevant international sectors will also delve into public policies and innovation incentive mechanisms, promoting international cooperation and policy coordination.

  • Awards

The first prize (gold medal) accounts for 15%; the second prize (silver medal) accounts for 25%; the third prize (bronze medal) accounts for 35% of the total participated teams. The above awards will be awarded with MEDALS and certificates, and other participating teams will be awarded with certificates of excellence.

  • Project Conditions
    1. Setting up will be done on the first day of the event. Details will be provided by the organiser through emails.
    2. Each team is required to exhibit onsite throughout the 3-day event
    3. Each team is responsible to bring other necessities for the setting up of its booth.
    4. Each team is to exhibit its project at the assigned booth throughout the event period regardless of assessment progress and status.
    5. Assessment by judges will be carried out during one of the 3 days event through interview and project presentation at the exhibition booth.
    6. Hazardous (biological, chemical, and/or physical) products are prohibited to be displayed on the exhibition booth.
